Quansheng has moved the market for economy handheld radios with their now famous UV-K5(8) dual band (144/430 MHz) radio. Amateurs soon found that the firmware was able to be modified and many usability enhancements soon became available to transform the radio. Hardware modifications followed that provided HF reception and increased channel storage.
Quansheng are about to release another increment in hand held radio capability to join the UV-K5(8): the TK-11(8).
Offering quad band (28, 50, 144 MHz and 430MHz) FM transmission, it also provides for AM, FM, SSB receiving from 0.15MHz through 1100 MHz ( some frequencies excepted – cellular bands etc ). Quansheng have listened to the feedback from Amateurs and responded by incorporating features in the TG-11(8), that have proved popular with adaptions to the UV-K5(8)
